- ROEMHELD at the AMB: integrated clamping solutions from the machine table to the workpiece
- Clamping technology from a single source: configurable and automatable, digitally connected
- Five innovations at AMB: Clamping elements for configuration, for automation, for narrow workspaces, with electromechanical drive and with a new jaw width
THE ROEMHELD Group will be focusing on highly configurable complete solutions for workpiece clamping from the machine table to the workpiece at AMB. It offers all components from machine vices to numerous types of clamping and support elements, couplings and media transfers through to zero-point clamping technology and hydraulic units.
In addition to a large cross-section of its broad product range, the clamping technology specialist will be presenting five new products at the trade fair. In addition to quickly available clamping elements that customers can configure themselves, these include new components for fully automatic workpiece changing for unmanned production. The new "Power Clamp" centric clamp for tight workspaces will also be celebrating its trade fair premiere. Electromechanical clamping elements and the new HILMA.ASH 100 machine vice with a jaw width of 100 mm will also be on display.
ROEMHELD will be exhibiting at the AMB from 10 to 14 September in Stuttgart in Hall 1, Stand E42.

An almost unlimited variety of products with short delivery times: This is possible with the new compact swing clamp with robust swing mechanism and the new swing clamp without swing stroke. The two double-acting hydraulic clamping elements are the first components at ROEMHELD that customers can configure according to their specific requirements.
This increases the number of product variants that can be realised many times over and they are also available at short notice. This is because ROEMHELD assembles the desired versions immediately after receiving the order. All necessary individual parts are in stock.
In future, configuration options will be realised as far as possible in the development of all new ROEMHELD clamping elements.
At the trade fair, ROEMHELD will be demonstrating unmanned, efficient and flexible production for small quantities - now for the first time including automatic changing of the clamping jaws for different workpieces.
Using an automation cell as an example, alternative media solutions will be demonstrated at the same time: The hydraulic double-acting machine vice HILMA.ASH, the electric HILMA.ASE and the mechanical HILMA.MCP are used side by side.
With the help of the vices and their numerous variants, automation solutions can be configured for almost any application and for different media, offering continuous condition monitoring, high availability and great variability.
A new double-acting centric clamp in a particularly compact design for small workspaces is also celebrating its premiere at the trade fair. In its pneumatic version, it clamps with up to 14 kN, hydraulically driven even 20 kN, which is why it bears the nickname "Power Clamp". It is suitable for both internal and external clamping and has a centring accuracy of ±0.01 mm.
Available equipment options include clamping stroke monitoring, sealing air, quick-change jaws and RFID chip recognition.
From its range of electromechanical clamping elements, ROEMHELD will be exhibiting the swing clamp at the AMB, which is now available in a second size. Like all components in the series with electromechanics, this new product also works without an additional external control, as this is already integrated; a special feature that makes ROEMHELD clamping elements unique on the market.
In addition to various function checks, the self-locking spindle drive contributes to a high level of process reliability and safe operation. If the power supply is disconnected, the clamping force remains unalterable. For automation, all commands and information can be transmitted via IO-Link connection.
The swing clamps are designed in particular for fixture construction, assembly and handling as well as transport and testing technology. Automotive manufacturers who want to replace pneumatic clamping technology also use the alternatives.
Due to the great demand from the machining industry, ROEMHELD is currently expanding its electromechanical range. The company, which sees itself as a pioneer and technology leader in the market for electromechanical clamping elements, is continuing to invest in the development of further clamping and support elements.
The hydraulic double-acting machine vice HILMA.ASH is now available for the first time in a version with a jaw width of 100 mm. The centring vice for 5-axis machines offers a clamping force of 23 kN at 200 bar operating pressure and a particularly large clamping stroke of 70 mm. This allows components of different sizes to be clamped quickly.
The HILMA.ASH 100 has a quick-change system with which suitable jaws can be changed automatically and quickly, even for special requirements. For automated workpiece and pallet changing, the new product, in combination with a robot, replaces a large number of conventional clamping systems with a small stroke. An optional stroke measuring system enables the automated setting of new clamping ranges.
Digitisation and 5-axis clamping
In addition to the current innovation, the ROEMHELD Group will be presenting a number of other recent innovations at its stand. These include, for example, clamping elements with sensors, the STARK.eMD electric media coupling and the STARK.intelligence clamping system for end-to-end digitalisation of clamping devices and the HILMA.UC universal machine vice for 5-axis clamping.
